I've been crazybusy with RL and when I come back GJ has decided to fall apart on me. WTH? I've backed up this journal and am thinking about checking out insanejournal. I already have a journal there under the same username, you're free to add me there if you want to :) I also have a LJ under the same name (it's mostly been for joining communities but I've started crossposting things there. I'm such a hypocrite.)
If GJ miraculously revives I'll return. But reading the news and support communities, this doesn't seem likely atm. It's been fun while it lasted.

Oh shit. I thought school shootings only happened in America. Or as my grandfather put it: seems we've caught the American disease...
...
Some nuthead killed at least 8 people at a school in Tuusula earlier today. My sister has a friend there, but luckily she wasn't hurt.
From what I've heard the Principal warned teachers and students to stay in their classrooms and lock the doors, and if they were on the second floor, jump out of the windows. She was later killed. The shooter shot himself in the head after the police arrived but he's still alive(if just barely). He apparently had some "idealistic" reasons for his deed... My sister showed me a journal entry he'd written only hours before the shootings. His thoughts sounded like a creepy mismash of Hitler's and Stalin's with some misuse of natural selection thrown in to justify what he was about to do.
I just don't know what to say. |

Anyone else thinking of participating in nanowrimo this year? I've decided that my inability to write anything longer than drabbles has gotta go and that I'm going to reach 50k words no matter what. Just one little problem...
I still don't have a plot.
...
I'm not sure I'm going to be writing it (entirely) in English. I don't even know if it's going to be fanfic or not for crying out loud -__- I feel so unmotivated. |

I can't be the only one who's ridiculously excited that AMV Hell 4 finally is coming out this weekend :D From what I've heard it won't be as Azumanga Daioh-dominated this time around,which is good cause I found those parts terribly boring.
I had my final 6 hour long exam today (at least until next spring, but I don't want to think about that yet). I've already started getting back preliminary results for the previous ones. They were OK, maybe not as good as I'd hoped, except for the Finnish listening comprehension where I tied for the best spot in our school :3 History was a pain in the ass this year. Both of the plus questions were centered around our history with the Sovjet. I had studied both of our wars extensively, but the questions were about the brief months between the wars and the conditions for the peace in Moscow, things I hadn't really focused on ==
So yeah I'm pretty tired and as all the energy drinks I've consumed this day begin to kick in pretty hyper too. I doodled Rukia:

Yeah, you're probably tired of hearing it (not as tired as I'm of experiencing it though ;P) but computer troubles. I'm on a public computer right now and shitty resolution what the fuuck? I mean, who uses 640×480 nowadays? I tried changing the settings but apparently I need administrative access to do so. And this guy who's sitting right behind me keeps looking over my shoulder and... not a good day. My new and improved monitor arrives on Friday. I hope I don't go insane before that :P
To stem off fandom withdrawal I've been rereading Naruto, but in Japanese this time. I got vol 1-27 really cheap from a guy who lives in the same city as I do, picked them up yesterday in fact. It's a little weird at first: I've never owned manga in Japanese before. I've been reading Naruto from scanlations of varying quality, so it's nice to see how the pages actually look like. Reading is going sloow- oh kanji, I hate you -so sometimes I skip ahead to more interesting parts. Sasuke is starting to get on my nerves again. In volume 1(I think?) there's an earlier design for Sasuke and I must admit I snorted whatever I was drinking out of my nose when I saw that. He looked so...dorky XD
When I browsed through them I noticed there was a huge improvement in the art somewhere between volumes 12 and 15. I love how Kishi draws toes o.O
I haven't been following the recent Bleach anime after the fillers, but I happened to see some random clip on youtube in which Ukitake was looking *fiine*. I need to catch up on the manga, but I can't remember even half of the new characters introduced -_- It starts feeling too much like work when you can't get trough a single chapter without looking up names on wikipedia. |

Aargh! I can't figure out if I'm supposed to give credit to the icon maker in the keywords or the comments. I thought keywords were there just to make it easier to find the right icon when commenting, but then I see people saying 'you better credit me in your keywords or else!!!' I never had this problem on LJ, I mainly used my own icons there. I guess having 100 free icon slots has made me into an icon whore.
So to be on the safe side of things( I really don't want to be bitched out by someone over an icon) I decided to put 'made by x' in both the comments and the keywords.
On an unrelated note, I really hate using someone else's computer. I've customized my own to the degree that anything else just feels clumsy and *wrong*. I had almost finished colouring my KakaSaku fanart before the monitor died,at least I got to save it.
I had the OVA Pale Cocoon on a USB stick, so I watched it on my sisters's computer. It was really, really good, in an understated sort of way.

So the LJ drama is apparently not slowing down. It's getting tedious now, honestly. I understand that many are attached to LJ and can't imagine a fandom life without it but I'm glad to have jumped that sinking ship.
I've been dling the Naruto Shippuden RAWs for my AMV-making needs(I vastly prefer the manga) but haven't really had time to watch them. So I made an exception and had a look at episode 24(the latest) and...wtf was that? The OP had lots of unknown faces in it, I know I'm way behind on the manga but still... that blonde girl had more screen time than sakura aargh Maybe it's from the movie or smt, I think I saw Naruto in his old clothes?
The ep itself wasn't that bad. Sakura vs Sasori = badass :} They made Sakura look fat in the flashback though, what was up with that? o.0 The ED was some filler shit again, I didn't really watch it.
On a RL note, school started again. I had to call in sick, which was a pretty sucky way to start a new year. |

So yeah, I'm back. I spent the weekend on someone else's couch with a high fever and a running nose. When I came home today I went to the health center to get myself checked out, and after queuing for two hours the nurse took a quick look at me and told me I have sinusitis. So now I'm all drugged up and groggy, and probably not too coherent. I think I'll just answer some comments here on GJ and get right back to sleep.

I was planning on catching up with Darker than Black today sudo, why did you stop subbing it :( but it seems I have to go out of town for a couple of days. Which sucks, cause I won't have access to the internets at all. At least I might get some fanarts done or something, I just have to find the cords to my scanner so that I can post them when I come back.
LJ is becoming even more of a mess, but at the moment I'm too tired of the whole thing to care. I still read fics and such on there, but I'm not going back completely any time soon.
So yeah, I'm just generally feeling pretty exhausted and on top of it all I think I'm coming down with the flu.
On a happier note: a semi-friend of mine has offered to let me borrow several volumes of the D.Gray-man manga ^^ I know, I could just read the scanlations, but I kinda prefer having something solid in my hands (<--I'm getting way too attached to the strikethrough tag XD) |
